what power/torque?

Featured Replies

was gonna say, I have the stage 2 and currently it is 'only' 201 bhp and the torque is conservatively mapped too (superchips are conservative, and this was post engine rebuild so it was gonna get tweaked up later).

Once it is back together again and running with a few other bits added it will be interesting to see ;)

230bhp... and to p-torque i think you mean a stage 2 theyre...

Stage 1 – MD374

Hi flow GT17 compressor wheel, cnc machined compressor housing, 360 degree thrust

bearing, cut back turbine blades, lightening of turbine wheel for faster ‘spool up’,

modified V.N.T. turbine housing, uprated turbine seals. Other ‘blueprinting’

modifications. APPROX 200 - 220 BHP

Stage 2 – MD376

Hi flow GT20 spec compressor wheel, cnc machined compressor housing, 360 degree

thrust bearing, cut back turbine blades, lightening of turbine wheel for faster ‘spool up’,

modified V.N.T. turbine housing, uprated turbine seals. Other ‘blueprinting’

modifications. APPROX 220-240 BHP

I have seen these bhp figures quoted a lot on this forum - where have they come from?

I have ordered an MD374 and I'm thinking that 200bhp would be 'enough' for fun and turbo longevity.

But I would still like to know where these bhp figures have come from!

179 bhp and 340 torques me!

Im pushing 179bhp & 320 lb.ft(to keep the clutch happy) and never really boot from anything under 3000rpm.

Supprisingly the KKK has lasted over 10k miles like this, im very supprised and we even have bets on in the office when it'll go pop :)

I think the key is to have lots of mechanical sympahy for these piddly little KKK turbos, i always warm up and cool down, never use full throttle for too long (intake temps) and always monitor boost pressure when on full chat.
