Afternoon All!!

I have an Octavia VRS 02 plate, running at approx 235BHP.

Just had a custom re-map and already have a full sports exhaust and a pipercross panel filter.

I am looking for advise from anyone, in regards to whats the next best step in tuning, and approx costs involved?

Been thinking about having a sports catt and manifold fitted, and also would a Forge re-circ dump valve help with turbo-lag and acceleration.

Try posting in the Octavia I forum or the Maintenence & Performance forum.

You won't get more than 240 bhp out of the car with a standard turbo.

i am suprised the car got re-mapped without the dv being uprated.. as most tuners AFAIK usually reccomend this when having it remapped hope this helps

Is it true that the recirc valve improves pick up and reduces turbo lag, or is that just a gimmick Forge put in so you buy it?

Welcome. I think the Forge is recommended because it can be serviced and adjusted (stronger/weaker springs) and lasts longer than the OEM Bosch one, otherwise the Bosch one does the job just fine (prepares to be shot down)

It will help you keep the boost a bit longer , but no major gains with it

I must admit standard ones are very very common to fail and will cause issues

yes some remappers will not map a car without it

This is due to the extra boost that the remap can give , and the extra boost will cause the DV to split

So rather than detune the remap to not give extra boost they replace the DV to start with

Welcome. As said above, not much more available from the standard turbo. You may also need a SMIC.
