Featured Replies

Hope you can help? Having major slipping on my clutch (Mk1 Octy Vrs 86,000 miles) so needs to be replaced been quoted £180 + vat to fit just need to find parts not looking to uprate/grade as car is standard. Any ideas of where to get them from and was wondering if any VAG clutch fits as relative works at Audi (discount).

Many thanks in advance

Chris

Try your local car factors m8......Partco, GSF just look in yellow pages....Borg and Beck and LUK are good clutches

Who you getting to do the work in Salisbury mate?

There are a few factors on Churchfields, and Camberly on the Southampton road.

what engine code is it because i have a 1.9 tdi alh code and the only place i can gat a clutch from is the main dealer and i would suggest a flywheel too as they are dual mass and go just as easy as the clutch does im on my fourth ready for the fifth 264000 miles though

Bodge, ##!!##nique (Used to be Autechnique London Road) at Old Sarum. My neighbour is a director there.

My engine code is AUQ. Yeah gonna replace the flywheel too but not sure which type? Any Ideas?

Ahh nice, yeah ##!!##nique would have been my recommendation. The mechanic that sorted my running problems out when I first bought the car was excellent.

I wouldn't bother with a dual mass flywheel, as they are expensive and sometimes unreliable. Check out this ECS kit from Awesome: Awesome > ECS Stage 1 Clutch Kit (228mm) 5 Speed

Includes an ECS single mass flywheel. You can use a single mass flywheel off another VAG car, but I forget the car. A G40 or VR6 maybe, I'll have to check.

There's a VW specialist place in Alderbury that are very good. On the old road about 500 yards from the Three Crowns pub, on the left as you head into Salisbury from Southampton.......

Ooh I never knew that! I might go have a look on Friday, as my parents live near Alderbury.

Three Crowns is a good pub too. Well it was the last time I went anyway!

Do you know their name?
