ECU Evolution remap done - coilpack blown!

Featured Replies

Just refitted the ecu after ECU Evolution had remapped it, and got it back really quickly too. All was going well for about 1 mile, then I got the light on the dash, and the misfire:( Done a search on the forum, but was guessing it was a coilpack before, and of course the threads just confirmed it. Also rang ECU Evolutions up, and they were very helpful, they said to change the spark plugs first, and asked when they were last changed, but these were only done a few thousand miles ago. Then they mentioned it looked like a coilpack, and to check by pulling each lead off and checking for engine note change, sure enough No2 was no change, so swopped it to No1 to confirm, and it did.

Gutted though, remap felt great for about 1 mile lol, just my luck! Lucky I was`nt far from home to limp back. Ah well, will get a new one from Audi dealer tomorrow(as they are nearer) and then it`s playtime:devil:

Probably on deaths door anyway and the extra load sealed it's fate. Hope you get back on the road asap.

are ECU evolution the ones in Wales that do a postal remap for about a ton???

They are indeed.

They are indeed.

Great. That's where I'm going once I have my fault sorted out...

You are lucky, mine has done 66k and one has gone. Replaced the dud one, and it is running like a dream[me after remap=:D:D:D] All the sayings are true `Like a new car` and `Should have done it sooner` all ring true now!

I think I`m on the slippery slope of modifying again, already thinking of what to do next:rolleyes:...new TIP/exhaust/Forge 007p DV/Ebay CAI? oh god, here we go.

Oh, and anyone wondering if the ECU Evolutions remap is any good, get it done asap is all I can say, fast service, helpful, and works wonders on the car. All this and only £99, although be quick as the price is going back up at the end of the month;)

I've only had the car 9 months but the previous owner had the coils done thankfully

I've had Ecu Evolution maps on for 1yr 2 months now ( i think i was the first on this forum to get one). The First map they used, which was from a good German tuner, i wasn't that impressed with but this one is very very good. I have had no problems since the second one but the first hesitated a bit. This is an excellent remap at a great price, maybe other tuners should take note and reduce their prices

yea and pigs will fly
