octavia 1 reversing light

Featured Replies

hey guys newbie here, can anybody help me,iv got no reverse lights at all (they dont even flicker)...its on a octy 1 1.9sdi classic estate

i think it may be the switch but i cant find it anywere....any pointers?

cheers

The switch is on the gearbox itself

If you have changed the bulbs and they are not working its more than likelly going to be the switch.

If not, change the bulbs first.

The switch is located on the gearbox.

It will be under your airbox and has 2 wires/pins.

22mm spanner/socket to take it out.

is it easier to remove the airbox or do i have to go underneath?......i dont have access to ramps so id be on the ground

It is also worth checking the fuse (F7, 10A).

Before you replace the switch it is worth sticking a continuity tester/ohm meter across it whilst someone puts the car in reverse.

easiest way i find to check for a faulty switch is to un plug the connector from switch & join the terminals together using a split pin & put ignition on & if lights work you have a faulty switch!
