Wheels & Lowering Advice

Featured Replies

I'm intending to get Weitec coilovers for my VRS with the intention of lowering 40-50mm, however the wheels I've got my eye on are 8x17 ET 30, if I use 205x40x17 tyres am I likely to suffer any rubbing (of the tyres ).

Shouldn't be a problem, I've got a KW Var 1 set on mine (about -40mm) and 215/35R18 (ET35) on my Fabia and no probs with 'em :)

what would be the best springs to lower a fab?

That depends on how low you want to go. Forum favourite is Eibach springs which gives you a drop of 30mm and there are other makes that offer a similar drop.

I'm going to go for coilovers which gives the option of setting the ride height how you want it (within reason).

You shouldnt have any rubbing issues.

Ive run ET15 on an 17x8" without much hassle at -60mm.

Im Running Supersort spring, lower the car 55mm, makes the car look so much sportier.

and im having no problems so far with them [touch wood]

Running them with VRS alloys looks nice

Good choice on the Weitec coilovers, you won't be disappointed!

As for springs, as said, a lot of people run the Eibach Pro springs.
