  • Me or him?! I'm confused! You can only have my number if you have big bristols (moobs not included).

Hahaha, yeah I must admit I'm loving the google today!

I can pass this sort of thing off as 'work related' research, so I'm lording up the searching!

who invited you to the party??

lol :D

that is poor power for ak04-21 are you sure that isnt the k04-1??

That was a k04-023 from the thread Bodge posted earlier (Fourtitude Forums: Official K04-02x Information Thread).

The Audi TT only used the K04-020,022,023 turbo according to the thread.

how much do you want just for the turbo and manifold???

PM me for info (will also throw in the oil and water lines).

but if your going to buy a decent tubular equal length manifold why buy a K04 fitment? and the price between a K04 and a gt28 is around £300 and the rest of the costs are pretty much the same. if you think a mid - high 200's K04 car is just as quick as a gt28 car then once finished we all need to meet at a track day somewhere, even trax will do and see how things go

y has no one gone for the E05 turbo?

I remember goin on bout this ages ago when i could of got the K04-023 from a fella with everything for a few quid lol, injectors, FPR, all pipework and new ish turbo, manifold, TIP

someone showed me the E05 one.

what they like?

billy

we shall see!!! im no expert so shouldnt have said that i quess but will have a go against a gt car no worries even if i did get stuffed!!! :D

i dont want a laggy car:D

lag doesn't exist if you drive a car right. :P

ask des about E05's :)

im going to stick with the k04 that will be plenty for me:D

has he had one?

to not ahave a car with lag then you need to rev them a bit, all depends on what you want.

I personally want a nice powerful car that will get me up to speed fast and still be usable round town without revin the nuts off it. I norm keep mine between 2-3.5k rpm round town. so for me the std k03s is fine with a few mods to get good power.

lookin at it though the k04-02x looks to me like a nice mod to do. I personally dont want to have a FWD car with 300+ bhp as it is pointless imo. RWD and 4X4 yea.

a good alrounder i think is a vRS with K04 upgrade and all the trimmins, good clutch and LSD. 260-280 bhp is more than enough for a FWD car for road use. this gives you enough not to be totaly embaraced on track days as long as you know how to use it.

I think the same, if it breaks replace with something better, so when mine goes it will be the k04 kit for me and back in to RS tuning to tweek the map if he can do it?

billy

Search Google for the E05, some good reports and some bad reports some saying they blowup easily also they seem a bit hit and miss with the power.

its not a map tweak its a completely different map, do not run a different turbo on your map with boost!!!

if your going to change the turbo and have drive it then then lock the waste gate open so you run no boost!

so is it not as easy as tweeking the map then? how come? int it just fuel to air ratios and preasure stuff?

i am not a pro with maps.

cheers for the tips though, was gonna trailor it there when it comes to it, hopfully not for a long while yet.

yeah but you can't just drive it, glad you were planning on using a trailer.

i have never mapped a car or even seen what it takes myself but as far as i know its not exactly simple and there is so much to change it would take more work to tweak than to stick on a new map.

rgr that.

cheers, would be better goin on a trailor as drivin off boost wont do it any good at all.

Im sure the guy in leeds will be able to tell me what it entails. I am lookin after my car at the mo as I cant afford for the turbo to go just yet. I need to find a good job first!

cheers

billy

driving off boost shouldn't do any farm, its not a lot different to limp mode. the cars clever enough to know boost and it knows how to fuel for no boost but if you put a bigger turbo on it will move more air at the same boost resulting in a lean mixture and possible damage. running with no boost shouldn't damage anything.

Bit OT but - The effect of having a blown off turbo hose on a derv is much more 'obvious' beyond the power, in that you leave a 'bit' of a smoke screen

Hope you get it mapped soon, will be interesting :)

So if I put my gt28rs on my car that I have just bought will my car run lean ?

So if I put my gt28rs on my car that I have just bought will my car run lean ?

no mate will run fine just bolts on should be good for 500bhp

LOL thats funny.. Yeah I will just pull actuator pipe off.

500bhp sweet !!!

Or maybe I should just sell the turbo and get a K04 the extra 30 bhp must be awsome..:rofl::rofl::rofl:
