Featured Replies

Having seen a few Dyno graphs its looking like around the 250bhp mark. I will be very surprised if you see 270bhp.

  • Me or him?! I'm confused! You can only have my number if you have big bristols (moobs not included).

So why the difference? All down to the .5 difference in compression ratio?! Because that's the only difference between the AUQ and a TT/S3 lump which all seem to kick out 270/280 when mapped with a few bolt-ons.

And for those mentioning the equal length manifold, JBS did one but they have stopped it now. There are a couple available from the states but they are not cheap! JBS are doing a cast one but it's not finished yet.

LOL at this thread.:rofl::rofl:.....stop, stop, my ribs hurt.

I've been where you lot are all heading. It's like a parent watching there kids make the same mistakes as they once did after choosing to ignore all the advice.

I still wish you all the luck in the world in your quest for more power.

Please tell me what "FEW" bolt ons do you have to fit to an AUQ engine with your map to get 270-280bhp.

The TT engine has different rods etc to the AUQ engine, or are you saying that you think the 180bhp engine in the Audi TT is the same engine as in the Octy vRS and will easily run 270-280 bhp?

Tig-art still do the equal length manifold, and this is essential if you want to get the engine flowing properly to get anywhere near the figures your after, and as stated, they are not cheap.

Iv got a k04 ...except its not in my car...its um...my username,should of called myself k03s really shouldn't i?

What about hybrid...or IHI......no

Ill stick with k04:rolleyes:

Well a recent thread on Seatcupra.net says the manifold is no longer available and that James Silverstone of JBS owns Tig-Art anyway! Yes you right it does, but lately I have read than people have been spitting rods even on AMK/APX/BAM motors with only a remap. On the other hand several UK based tuners offer turbo upgrades on the stock 150/180 motors up to 350 brake on stock internals! I have been told to watch the EGT's with the K04 by some and others say it's all fine you can expect the 260-280 figure! Either way I'm happy with mine and once it's been running for a while I'll get it roaded and let you know...

Having been to many, many, rolling road days, I have to ask when you have seen any of the mapped KO4 equipped Seat Cupra R's (210 or 225 bhp) hitting over 250 bhp on a regular basis, they do on the forum or down the pub, but on the RR's, well that another story, and I am talking about reliable RR's.

At Marlins on a Seat RR day they were handing out tissues for the tears....LOL

Since when has James @ JBS owned Tig-Art????

having done some research on this item through many forums i came to the conclusion that they dont use fully penertating welds thus causing alot to fail and reqa re-weld which is why delcac has prob posted what he did:thumbup:

i was known that tig art supplied jbs with the manifolds. but now jbs doit themselves in house:thumbup:

common knowledge on other forums it would seem:O

reading around, JBS reckon they inspected all manifolds and only sold those which they deemed fit and up to their standards/specs; none of them had full penetration welds and the chappy at Tig-Art was quite clear about the fact that they don't weld them in that way - I get the impression that JBS stopped (re)selling Tig-Art manifolds due to quality issues at about the same time Tig-Art started selling them direct at a lower cost...

Why dont you guys go for the best??? Try www.primarydesigns.co.uk ask for Pat.....

A certain "Badger" used them for his Seat.....

I kept telling Ben to man up and go to PD, but he was constantly whinging about the cost...

i think you are right mate to behonest- speaking to a certain person in the no you are about spot on with what you say..

He will be more than whinging when he/Lummox has to keep taking the manifold off to repare it again and again and........

so its the tigart one that has poor welds is it des??? or the jbs one im getting confused:confused:

By reading the posts above, my understanding is that JBS sold Tigart ones that they QAd and passed, and at that point it passed. However the welding is fundamentally weak, so over time they are likely to fail anyway.

Well my TigArt one keeps leaking.

I have no comment about JBS at all, a bit like a reference or not in this case.

thats not good.... it must be down to them not using fully penertrating welds which i cant see why they do that....how strange..

have you re-welded yours?? bit disapointing as they are rather expensive:mad:

Have I re-welded mine ........I'd like pound for everytime that manifold has been off.

And people ask me why I suggest to leave their car well alone.

i thought the only welding that failed on your manifold was where you had an external wastegate added Des?

As well as, yes. :(

I'll dig out a nice pic for you.

Here you go.
