This is how I see it standard remap 220bhp With K03s, K04 Remap 250 to 270 with no room for improvement.

Gt28rs.60 trim not .71 trim and will spool at full boost at around 2800rpm and allow for 330bhp.

250 to 270 maybe abit higher mate i should get 300bhp once finished....and the turbo come in at 2k. :D:thumbup:

then there is the cost i will be able to do this at a fraction of the price of the gt28 as the gt28 you should be uprating you rods at a minimum :rolleyes:

once ive finished mine it would be good to put it up against a gt28 and see what the difference is :thumbup: the old fashion way :D

I won't be running 330 just 290 to 300 thats the max for the rods

My mate on here has a Vrs and he's just got the K04-23 turbo for his and the K04 manifold so I will be testing Mine against his very soon so I'm sure we will both post results

So if he beats me then no I won't race u but if I woop his then yeah lets get it on.. :thumbup:

I know modding is an addiction but c'mon.

If it were me i would source the parts for the k04 from a 225 TT which is being stripped for spares then fit the parts myself to keep cost down. The only part that would need modding would be the exhaust. All this would be very cheap, then you could just get a map from a remapped TT which should swap across without too many probs

All this = a cheap BHP increase.

2k never i will be doing all this for about 1k max bud :thumbup:

as said before if we all said the cars only worth X then no one would mod there car. therei s no extra value in a car if modded even less in cases.. i dont care about the value of the car it wont ever be for sale :thumbup:

doesn't fitting the K04 spend you into a dead end? do jabba do anything internally (unless requested) as part of their 300bhp+ IHI upgrade?

yes mate it does really no room after the k04. there is more scope with the gt series but i dont want more than 300bhp in a fwd car anyway:thumbup:

i dont no why people dont like the k04 upgrade. :o

also over 300 im sure you are fairly close to the rods needing to be changed and then thats the next level which i will leave for the others to do ;)

Tbh mate I have not had a 1.8t before only 2.0t which don't seem to suffer as much with lag.

if it is very laggy which from mostly all the forums that talk about gt2860rs say thay are very fast on spool-up I will just have to see. I will take pic's on how I go.

So its just the diameter on the maf not the maf itself as thay are different part numbers.

Yeah it's the same and hot side outlet exhaust is same as s3 downpipe

There are lots of different Gt28rs variants..

I will have to buy some new oil and water lines as thay did not come with the turbo.

My turbo came from 034 motorsport I think this is it hxxp://www.034motorsport.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_102&products_id=268

But without the 400bhp upgrade

thats not a garrett turbo.

thats a hybrib using a custom exhaust housing to fit a K04 manifold as the gt2860rs uses a T25 flange which is a rectangular 4 bolt flange.

also the gt28 isn't rebuildable as such you just replace the chra which isn't cheap, that turbo is going to cost you a few hundred (googling looks like £400 ish).

you can't say that turbo will act like a standard garrett item because it simply isn't one :)

so to buy your turbo and a new chra for it to make it as good as new will have cost you around £750 where as i paid over £100 less for a brand new never used gt2860rs but you got a manifold where i didn't but i also bought a cheap cast log manifold for £100 delivered(which has now been replaced by a tig-art SS equal length tubular item as it was far too shiney to pass on).

good luck and its always good to hear of bigger turbo's :D

btw just because a turbo is capable of 350bhp doesn't mean it has to mapped to that power, you can always fit a gt28 and get it mapped to 300 for good safe power then later on do more mods and get the map tweaked for more power :D

I knew it was going to cost me quite a bit for the new internels for the turbo, but I thought it would be more like £300 not £400 :eek: seems quite alot but i'm no expert.

I'm only wanting to run around 300bhp hopfully it will be ok for me.

Bengie do you have the gt2860rs is it really laggy ?

N.B. anyone know of a good turbo repair company that won't cost me an Arm&Leg
