Non Skoda help please: Mazda Premacy - Now Octavia owner

Featured Replies

My sisters other half has got a 2000 (W) reg Mazda Premacy, and he has an ongoing saga that nobody seems to able to resolve.

Basically the fuel economy is pants, and it goes through petrol so fast you can watch the gauge drop as you drive along. Whilst all this is going on, sometimes the car will hesitate and refuse to go over 60mph before resuming normal service for a few more miles.

There is no fuel leak, the car has had the computer read, no issues reported, The whole exhaust system has been changed including the cat. Both his local garage who looked at it first and the Mazda dealer seem unable to solve the problem.

He is desperatly looking for a more positve solution as he has already thrown £750 at it over the last month or so.

So... Any ideas.

I'm assuming they've ascertained it's running rich by using an exhaust gas analyser so as to rule out leaks.

If it is rich then perhaps it's a control problem - water temp sensor maybe??

Try a MAF mate, they play havoc when they go duff.

My sister and partner have decided to cut their losses, and have p/exd the premacy.

He is now the proud owner of....

A T reg pre facelifft mk1 Skoda Octavia 1.6 GLX Auto in Rally Red, they got it from the same dealer I bought both my current and previous octy from. 60K miles, one owner, immaculate car. The cost to change was less than £500, so it was a no brainer really, and the auto box will help him because of his dodgy left knee.
