is there a fault with the window or am i at fault?

Featured Replies

i came home from work yesterday and as i parked up i noticed the front pass window of my octy was down. fearing the worst and thinking some scrote had broke it i approached the car hoping no further damage to the inside was done(apart from it being soaking wet as it was raining). as it happens the window was down and nothing disturbed. now the night before after i parked up i let the pass side down to pull in the wing mirror so i didn't have to walk round that side of the car and then did the same to the drivers side. as i put up the drivers window i decided to see if the two windows go up and down at the same speed. i hope i just pressed the down button by accident whilst being childish and this lead to the window being down and not something more sinister like a fault with the electrics but til now i've had no trouble or doubts with the elecs. so is it the cars fault or mine. has ne else had the windows go funny.

Sometimes while on the way up my window thinks something is in the way and goes most of the way back down on it's own.

yes, a couple of times when i have locked /unlocked the car all 4 windows lower.has anyone any i dea's

thanks

I've had this too, passenger window gets almost to the top and then decides to go all the way back down.

If you keep on holding the unlock button the windows will all open (if your car's programmed for it). Similarly, if you hold the lock button down all your windows should go up.

If you are absolutely certain you didn't hold the button down for any length of time then you might have an electrical fault.
