Been sat here for dam near 12 hours straight.

Set up 4 vm's last night, everything worked lovely.

Sat down, install, hitch, fix, install, hitch n fix...

So can I just sum up with a . is a royal pitfa.

It meant I had host. in my generated configs and not $myhostname

How annoyed am I with myself and postfix...

Now to get chilled out ;)

Be back ater to fiddle... just wanted to say I hate email setup, especially postfix...have a total menal block to her :(

Anyone use dovecot btw?

rofl.. are you playing with servers or high? That is a random post!

You could have just stuck with ISPConfig! :P

I love setting stuff up.. i find it quite relaxing, especially when it goes to plan.

lol yes.

It didn't.

ISPconfig is on a cusp of a release, I've tested the latestand found quite a few issues. The old one as in 2, well we don't get on. Anyhow it does not do clusters of servers.

Actually its using control panels that left me messed up :) But sadly I don't know enough about every program that runs on linux to be a vim wizard in all there config files :)

Oh My God! I don't even know what language you are talking, let alone what you are talking about.

I thought it was something to do with cars intitially, but finally managed to twig that it was computers (although still have no idea what)

Come back from a weekend away only to see this...

Still either you broke it properly, it all works perfectly or you've not moved the site over yet as I can still post this :D

Sure you'll get it sorted though Colin.

Colin I'm glad you know what you are on about ....because I don't have a clue :Dbut be sure, that all on here do appreciate what you do

Just need to get nginx or litespped on there to bypass apache :D

184 mean, and on the VM you'#re serving 90% in the same time... sounds like a pretty good match so far.

Different things for different people. I'm certain you'd glaze over if we discussed routing, ip, tcp stacks... Alas without it(and much more) you would not be able to partake in the internet, so it's a good job some people can think about it without getting zzzz's.

And the job I do helps bring enjoyment to many thousands of people in a roundabout way but I wouldn't dream of boring the **** out of peeps on here about it!!

Didn't know you'd taken to films Steve ;)

To be fair yes it's boring, but hey if it helps get the site up, fast and reliable for the minimal cost it's probably best that a few people band the boring stuff around and sort it :D

This Steve, is the Tech Shed, where clever folks (not me I hasten to add) talk about clever stuff. If it doesn't appeal to you, as it doesn't me particularly, don't read the posts. Im sure the members who post and read in this area find it interesting.

Thanks for those words of wisdom Dave, point taken and will refrain from reading drivel ... oops sorry, 'clever stuff' in future
