Really?! why do people get a remap done then? surely that extra power and torque will provide more oomph/go?!

Im also a great believer that its down to the driver how you put that extra torque down, if you drive it hard, and from low revs all the time then your asking for trouble! If you treat the car well and drive it properly then I really think that the clutch will be alright.

I say go for it, providing that the tuner is one of the recommended ones on this site!

i dunno its just my opinion.. had a wee battle against a standard one and theyre wasnt anything worth writing home about between them (and yes it was standard as it was recently ecu updated by skoda)

Only reason I ask is mine is still on the standard map, and I want it to be remapped, as the people ive spoken to only give it praise. A drive in a mapped car would be the best bet, but its finding a person willing to do it!

This is an eye opener, thought a remap was virtually compulsory.

I've been looking into a remap for after all my suspension tuning is done. I was going to get Angel to do it for me. The first thing I did after getting in touch with Angel about a price was phone my insurance company to find out how much extra they wanted - upto 170bhp I was quoted £20.11 extra on the policy, but a £25 fee for insurance notification! So i'll add it at the same time as wheels and suspension is done! (I thought my clutch was almost away, but it was just my driving!)

Why are you asking about a remap if the cars going into storage, according to one of your other posts?????

Because I have been quoted a discounted price if done before end of jan only reason to do now warranty on car runs out when im away also so wouldnt bother me It is in Northern Ireland for those who ask where is is so you wouldnt know it but there are a few VRS owners on here that have reported back well on the place having covered between them over 100k since getting a map there and no dramas all happy customers seem to have a lot of focus tdci customers too also they will restore to your existing map thats backed up for £25 if u ever want it done.

I am not looking for the most power possible from the fabia just want a marked improvement on the standard as I am not looking to totally kill MPG and stock parts will be heading for the 312mm brake upgrade when its time for new pads will do the lot as I believe its a genuine safety upgrade even on a stock one cant have too good an anchor on a car

my insurance company are a JOKE

im 24 and have 6 years no claims cost for the vrs renewal was in jan was £350 ish inc windscreen curt car full breakdown inc home start and no claims protection but .......... when i called said im wanting to have a quote for getting it remapped and gave the numbers they said they cannot quote on ANY modifications without first seeing the engineers report from where work was done then they will decide how much ................... said can only get the price AFTER work is done LOLOLOLOLOL scary thought but tbh my insurance is so CHEAP a 30% increase wouldn't bother me to much.

I've played with Gary's blue one on track a couple of time. Yes his is faster but I'd put that down to his coilovers and LSD more than his remap.
