Central Locking Relay Problem

Featured Replies

I believe that I have a dodgy central locking relay, but first I would like to check that it exists ?

My central locking on my 52 plate Fabia does not work by any method. I accessed the fuse panel and both fuses 31 (the tail gate central locking) and 49 ( everything else C/L) were fine.

What I noticed is that wiggling fuse 49 in place a relay tick tocking noise was clearly heard. Also while I was doing this I tested the buttons on the drivers door and the key fob, the central locking would work ok.

But as soon as I let go of the fuse nothing works again.

Is this a bad connection with the fuse or am I right to suspect the relay needs replaced.?

I would appreciate any solutions you might come up with.

Sounds like a bad connection for sure. Fusebox may have a dry solder joint on one of the edge plugs.

just tried to open my fabia through the key fob and it wouldn't open the alarm light is not working either. So had to open my drivers door manually, but i have a problem now that can not open any of the other doors. does anybody have any idea, also can the other doors be opened manually

to open them manually just pull the handles on the inside... unless you have child locks on the rears

i have tried to do that but it won't open, i have took fuse 49 out and wiped the ends and put it back in and it is working again:)
