Rear g/box mount

Featured Replies

Hi all driving home from cold had a knocking coming from car every time i slowed down or speeded up and changed gear but funnily went once the car was warm:confused: looked underneath and found the rear mount has worn out, any idea of cost guys, before i start rinning around tomorrow.

Also may have to sell the fun mobile as i now need a bigger car to carry more gear around without folding down the back seats all the time, oh the dilema as i've become quite fond of my giant killer:weeping:

I very recently had mine changed and it cost me £60 I think... can't remember exactly..

Mine was quite badly worn as it made the noise all the time and not just when cold.

Well worth getting it done as it made a huge difference to the drivability of the car.

In the Felicia the rear seats are removable  Do the smallest one first, fold it forward and when lifted up examine the hinge underneath. The seats come out by pulling the bottom out at a specific angle when lifted up - and they go back in nearly just as easily.

Oh and if you don't want to keep the L&K leather rear seats I'd have a use for them ;):thumbup:

anyone know where's best to get them from? - i need to do mine too - mechanic said it was a very simple job - 'even *you* could do it' were his words i think...

your dealer should have one in stock TBH if not there only about £11 from a parts factor

thanks - i got one today from a local VW garage - £15+vat - it was easy to fit too. car much quieter - still have some 'clunk' though, so i'll look at the exhaust mounts next...

Well! Aren't you the lucky one! lol

But don't forget that was for the complete unit plus labour and I needed it doing pretty sharpish for work so didn't have time to do it myself otherwise I would!
