This one got my attention!

Was driving down the M1 Southbound earlier, and the overhead signs were flashing "50" and a message: "Oncoming Vehicle"! :eek:

I was just coming up to Jn19 and came off, but the next one was flashing "20" so it was probably a good thing I was out of the way.

Very scary

Youch, i've only ever driven up the wrong side of a motorway once.

Was behind a convoy led by a T5 Cop Car after a fatal accident.

Emily may be able to shed some light on that one, " Caling the resident Womble.....!"

I drove the wrong way down the A14 one morning, got stopped by the police and didn't hear any more about it.

I've driven the wrong way down the M74 before ... I was on the hard shoulder, with traffic cones seperating it from the main carriageway (I was doing some work there at the time) but even so, it still didn't feel safe!

Am I the only person who doesn't get scared or intimidated by driving through a contraflow? I mean, more often than not the road is wider than a "normal" 2 or 4 lane single carriageway, or would be if not for all the cones etc!

Or the morons who suddenly panic at the start of a contra-flow

I hate contra-flows. Just feels so... unnatural

Was following a guy the other night... he was following the big yellow lorry with the flashing lights and massive markers... You know the ones, 10' crash bumpers used to slow / protect people.

Into the cones we went... big lorry slowed right down and pulls into coned area and sets off again but with lights off now... poor chap in front follows him then comes to a halt as the lights go off... Of course the snakefollowing and I mean huge snake of traffic behind us begins to carry on into the cones picking up speed... I looked back he was rolling, trying to find a way back in, if he'd not stopped he'd of got back in.... Funny then but must of been scary looking back if not a confident driver...

SWMBO frequently ends up turning off by accident in contraflows at junctions... cones... they confuse her bless
