VRS CR Engine & Millers Diesel Power Sport 4

Featured Replies

I do appreciate this may have been covered elsewhere, but Ive tried searching and cant find anything conclusive!

Has anyone used the Millers Diesel Power Sport 4 in their VRS with the CR engine type? Ive a friend who has used it his PD engined Leon, and he has nothing but good comments to make about it.

I use Millers in my vRS PD on top of Shell V-Power to good effect; would imagine similar in a CR vRS, but don't know definitively.

Like I said, my mates PD Leon seems to be ok with Millers, Im just unsure about using it my CR, hence why I thought Id throw the topic out for general discussion!

What you say is accepted.

However, whilst it would naturally be good to have direct experience from a CR engine user; in the meantime, both PD and CR engines have ultra high pressure injectors. Its just the PD uses pressured fuel supply with individual ultra high pressure injectors, whilst the CR has an ultra high pressure 'common rail' with regular injectors e.g. IMHO there isn't a lot of difference between them when considering fuel quality and additives.

PS> I'd also be interested to hear a response from a CR engined user.

I've put it in other CR diesel engines, however no experience with the VAG ones.

IIRC it does say it's suitable on the bottle, but at the end of the day it's your call.

have it in my ford focus tdci and had it in my 2.0 143ps Mazda 6, both of which are common rail

I ran it for 25k on my CDTi Astra (which is an Alfa JTD engine). No problems at all.

Yes, I run it in my VRS CR engine without problems.

Makes the engine feel smoother and gives around 2mpg better

Yes I do too in mine for the last 3 month

Definitely more power - but can't really say if any more mpg (perhaps 0.5mpg more)

possibly thats because I'm enjoying the extra oomph

and being a bit heavier with the right foot

But for me its worth every penny and IMHO much better then Shell VP Diesel

Maybe you should delete this post as effectively you will have invalidated your cars warranty. Could make things difficult if you want to reject the car.

What???? Why would we want to "reject" our cars!?!?!

Does the warranty specify what fuel is to be used then ???

Shell V power is simply normal diesel with additives , i see no difference between that and adding additives yourself

No but if you read the handbook it will state that no additional fuel additives must be used. this is despite the main dealers putting them in fuel/engine oil to make a few extra £££

Read gabell's other posts about his CR being a Pd and you'll see that the supplying dealer would have cause to argue the car was not maintained as per Skoda's schedules.

Oh but,

it's hard to demonstrate that what is inside the Millers can not be called "fuel".

I've used Millers in my CR and couldn't really notice any difference to be honest.
