Coolant leak?

Featured Replies

Hey people,

I was just checking my felly before the big country trip and while all things were ok, the coolant tank was almost empty! Coolant level was way beyond MIN mark. It was replaced about 2 months ago or so and drove about 500km. Plus the engine was runing fine; no overheating and the cooler worked only at heavy traffic.

Is this normal? i checked for leaks to be honest and found nothing.

Cheers

Definately no leak from the coolant tank and just a bit moisture under the radiator, also left the engine at idle for 10 mins and all went good. A friend told me that the coolant evaporates sometimes.:really:

You should probably get it pressure tested. If you couldn't find any leaks, it could be the pressure cap on the expansion tank.

You have already diagnosed it in the second post

Darn rigsby you are so right!

the moisture reformed again, left and under the radiator where a big tube is going to the engine from the top of the radiator. I put my fingers behind it and there were some trickles.

Is it easy, fast to fix?

shouldnt take more than an hour to replace, even for someone with no experience
