F***ing Thing!

Featured Replies

Well I bought my car in October and have done 3848 miles in it since. Brand new!

An end to repair bills I was thinking! :)

Well, not quite!

A nail right in the corner of the sidewall has appeared!

£125 fitted!

I was just about to spend some money on myself as well! The car must have known and thought, nope!

one week after getting my wife's car from new, we managed to get a nail in the tyre. on the way home from the tyre fitters a stone flew up and smashed the windscreen! how's that for luck! However since then it's been 4 years trouble free motoring. Lets hope your luck will now change for the better too!

I had a rogue stone crack my windscreen at 30 mph in roadworks on the M25 with less than 1000 miles on my Fabia. I was NOT impressed...

Have you got the tyre pressure warning thingy, if so, did it work ?

First day in spanking new 58 plate vrs -- stone chip in windscreen, right in view too small to repair.. see it every day...

04 Brand new octy Elegance Diesel 600 mls parked in shopping centre came back found a scratch from front to back cctv showed a woman with trolly goiing between the cars bouncing off mine and the car next to me with the shopping trolly

I had mine three days and was on our way to see the mother in law who had been carted off to A&E, when some bloke just drove out of shop forecourt and turned head on into the front of the Elegance. Then tried to blame me for not stopping to let him out.

Four days later he was arrested by armed police, because he had taken hostage, armed with a gun, a group of diners having Sunday Lunch at a local restaurant.

Car knows its own way to the hospital now it goes there so often.

It went off once, so I checked the pressures and put a little in all round to make it 32 (rather than dealer spec 28!?) It then went off again and the same tyre was lower so thats when I had it checked.

So yes it worked perfectly!

You sure that wasn't a movie !!??

Oh no all very real and it was my wife who actually confronted him following prang because she thought I would have turned violent, how do women suss us out like this?

My Insurers accepted what we told them and we got back all of our money and retained a clean insurance policy, which was good, but even today I am very wary off those vehicles coming out of forecourts.

I think some where in the Briskoda archives you may find the story, it would be back in 2005, me stomach had been opened up again to reconnect me plumbing following colon cancer.

An exciting year that one, but not as exciting as 2003 when me plumbing was severed and I chatted to Death in the early hours of a Sunday morning.

4 miles after picking up my Mk2 elegance, some idiot in a van saw the green light at traffic lights, and started to move at full pelt as soon as they did. Crunch into my bumper. Got cash from his employer to sort it out.

24 hours later rear window reg cables snapped and my rear windows were stuck down. Skoda assist kindly broke the n/s one for me. Took nearly 2 weeks for dealer to get parts.

Then within the first month wiper motor failed on swmbo, on the M25 @ rush hour during a monsoon
