Booked my car in at NG Motors (VAG specialists) in Cardiff on Thursday to try and fix two really annoying problems:

1) loud creak in the front to back direction of the suspension, especially when aceelerating, chaging gear and braking (bushes)

2) very slow coolant leak (radiator fan sensor?)

Last garage "couldn't find anything wrong" so I hope NG solve the probs. If so I'll be super-pleased. My friends have had their TT and S3 in there and had some great service.

If they do fix the problems then I promise to stop looking/lusting after different car evey day. Put simply, the VRS is THE PERFECT car for me on 35,000 miles per year and its slightly an "odd" choice, which is great for me. Chavs love the green brakes though. It's a great car.

Hence why I shall be throwing a further six grand into my car

NG motors are a top garage, I know plenty of people who have great service there. Hope they sort your issue

Wishbone console bushes were replaced for the Cupra ones (part no. 6LL 407 183). Seems to feel better and no creaking!

No annoying coolant level warning light. The bottle was replaced (6Q0 121 407B and 3B0 121 321)

Total cost £150

Back to loving my VRS now!

how does it feel with the cupra ones ?

does it feel firmer ?......any extra feedback through the wheel ?

The handling feels a little sharper. Not a big change as far as I can tell.

It will be slightly firmer but unlike the original bushes, these ones *can* cope

I don't think so, my wife's car has had them in since August 2007, some say you might get a bit more road noise due to the bushes being harder but personally I've not noticed it. Certainly improves the feel of the car - but there again I've forgotten what it used to feel like!
