tbh im pretty sure ill go for the vrs, its got more power, roughly the same mpg, similar in looks wise, and will be much better quality, and will probs hold its value better

and its only an extra £500ish

this one looks well nice

that is well nice! hmm idea's idea's!

fabia vrs - used to have the corsa and wouldn't bother again

Definitely the Skoda. Where can you go with tuning for the Corsa? The Fab is far better....

Hiya.

Make that "Corsa << Fabia vRS".

hello and definitely go for the Skoda

Welcome to BriSkoda mate.

Go for the vrs,

i had a corsa for my first car, which i would recommend for a starter driver, but i think u'll regret it if you dont go for a vRS

My ex Mrs had a Corsa what a bag of **** - albeit not a new one it was a 51 plate if mem serves, put me off Vauxhalls for good tho, esp. when the drivers seat manged to break the windscreen - yes you read it correctly! Go for the Skoda i doubt you will regret it - i am driving my first one still (fab vrs se) love it to bits but too small so next one is on order (oct vrs le estate) expecting mar 09.cant wait.

Corsas are really not all that bad, Vauxhall just has a sh*te reputation, Opel on the continent does not.

I must admit the Fabia vRS has been the best car I've owned, and Ross' transformation of the Fabia Estate into Estate vRS will be taking that crown for me for sure, but I've had various cars, some of which are considered cr*p but were great cars for me at the time, with the budget and use I got from them.

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda :D

Corsas are really not all that bad

YES THEY ARE !!!!!! I cannot stress that enough. I rented one for driving tuition for 7 months and hated every cursed mile. I hate it so much I did my best to destroy it to save anyone else the displeasure of having to endure it. I also had one of the new (current) shape ones for a couple of days whilst my Furby was off the road and could not believe it was actually worse to drive than the old POS. I would rather have a bus pass than a Corsa, I'd even settle for some comfortable shoes and a warm coat and walk it.

Would you like the stronger version of my opinion

Reading between the lines you don't like it then

Corsas are really not all that bad, .

Contarywise. When my Octy was in for some warranty work, I had a pretty new Corsa, and a 10 YO Micra as courtesy cars, and the Micra was the better car in everything but boot space and maybe acceleration (but I didn't time that)!

Try a Chevrolet bottom of the range, Matiz or something - that was godawful. Broke it twice in two days, and I didnt even treat it harshly

Guy at work had a Chevrolet Matiz as a courtesy car and I have to say I'd take a corsa over it ;)

Similar feelings about a lady friend's Daewoo (as it was then) Matiz. She and I had to play shoulders, due to the lack of interior width! However the fact that there are even worse cars doesn't mean that the Corsa is actually any sort of good; just that it could be even worse.

Mate of mine got a 57 plate Corsa and the passenger side electric window broke within two weeks of getting the car

I wouldn't hold that against the car, I'm sure (in fact I know!) that many Skodas have had little niggles in the first few months of ownership :)

Likewise. I would hold heavy, feel-free steering, cast concrete seats, poor drivability and general dullness against the car though.
