ive heard from few friends with mk4 golfs n that which have tuned them abit that i should be able to get more power just by fitting tdi 150 injectors to the 130 engine without a remap and that once remapped it should take it to around 190-195 if properly remapped and around 200 with a cat back system and the tdi 160 conversion n air filter was wondering if anyone on here has done that or anything similar?

1. 312mm brakes cost around £300 all in

2. Stage 1 remap with pd160 intake and panel filter to 175bhp and 290lb ft for £250-400

3. Wouldnt bother really but if you want noise get a decat with smaller back box - £200-600

4. Coilovers - take your pick

5. leather retrofitted by seat surgeons £800

Not being funny, but if you use the search function in the fabia forums all the points you have listed in your opening post have been covered time and time again, www.briskoda.net/search

A starter for ten though, dont bother changing your injectors its not quite that easy and the price of them vs the BHP if any is prohibitive. Only if you decided to take the car beyond 215-220 then you would consider reworked injectors.

The standard turbo will only take about 180hp max no way 200hp but with just a remap you should see around 170hp anything after that then you will need a bigger turbo with a decent remap, exhaust, intercooler and a few bit & bobs should see 230hp+ & alot of torque!

As above the pd150 is a bigger turbo, that remaped will see 190ish bhp.

Unless you wanna spend lots of £££s then id just do...

Jabba ARB £180

Eibach springs £150

Custom map £350

Ferodo DS2500 brake pads £100

Maybe a better clutch if you wont a really strong remap £600

Octy spider alloys, used £250ish

Alternative is to leave it standard. Spend the money on a driving holiday and diesel

Seriously, unless you go to track days, or race chavs away from lights, the standard car is plenty quick enough IMHO. That said, a sensible remap from Jabba will give smoother rev range and more MPG. If only I was closer I would have it done.

Bedrock in Motherwell are Jabba agents ;)

With regard to the leather, I ran a Group Buy at Seat Surgeons in York at the back end of last year.

The thread is http://briskoda.net/group-buys-promotions/seat-surgeons-group-buy/125432/ and is well worth a look as I gathered together as many pictures of leather interiors as I could find.

The GB has officially ended, but if you are interested its worth giving them a call - speak to the owner called Paul - as I suspect they will still be quiet (they do a lot of new car business) so he may be willing to extend it.

200-230bhp = £2500+

More than that mate £3000 for 215bhp / £4000 for 250bhp thats just for the BHP.

Then youve got the transmission, brakes, ARB, suspension etc...

To sum it all up your looking at a grand total of £9000 to make it a seriously fast car but its worth it in my opinion if you like being an underdog.

Prices:

- KW1s lowered suspension

- 312mm brake upgrade

- Whiteline Rear ARB

- PD160 air intake

= £1200 -> I did this last year. If you ONLY did this the car would be much improved (you don't need the PD160 without a remap - I did it because I knew I would be remapping afterwards).

- uprated Sachs organic clutch

- Peloquin diff

= £2000 -> about to do this (next 3 months)

- Milltek exhaust inc decat

- bigger turbo

- Forge FMIC

- remap

= £2800 -> will do this in 3-6 months time

All prices inc VAT and labour.

= 200-210bhp and maybe 300-320lb/ft

The diff will help traction. I would do all the handling and brake mods FIRST and then the power upgrades later.

If you do the power mods first you will have a car that will love hedges ;-)

some of the above have the 280mm brakes, but the only difference is the discs and the caliper hanger, the calipers are the the same
