Track days are awesome

Featured Replies

Well just had a day playing around Taupo track in nz, was the small original circuit, not the big one they use fro the a1gp, but what a awsome day, was officially a nissan z club day so was a bit different turning up in a 1.8t octy, had a few people wondering what it was!, i scored some dunlop d03g tyres (worn) so i put them on the front, had my pirelli p7000's on the back, adjusted my spax shocks up a wee bit and then had a play, was faster than a few on the other cars on the track which had more power so i was happy with that, but i did spin once and then nearly spun again but ended up sideways into some kitty litter (that stops you fast!!) after today i will definantly look at a remap just for a bit more go (not a vrs so only 150hp) and get some track tyres for the back to keep the bum in line! i havnt got a rear arb at the moment, does that help the oversteer at speed or not? as the car stays pretty flat as it is now, will post some pics when i get them :D

def get a rear ARB mate! i got the whiteline22mm adj on mine and its like a diff car. even with std sus on the vrs.

get the RARB, tyres, Breaks done and youll be surprised, then get the remap if you still want more in the straights.

glad you liked it mate, I am still to do one but dont wonna break the car as she is all i got.

Good to hear you enjoyed yourself.

The first trackday i did was the bruntingthorpe day with briskoda, nice and safe on an airfield. Second was the ring trip, that was a brilliant weekend, although *felt* dangerous on track.

Next one is Castle Combe that devonutopia has organised for us briskodians, a 15 minute session will be enough for a taster, without being too long to start hurting the car. My advice is get on it (if your in the UK ofcourse:))

some of the uk tracks would be great! only have a few down here! will get a full set of track tyres next time, think they make a huge difference and give you a bit more confidence :)

Track days truly are awesome. my first one was Cadwell Park, then Donnington, handling track at Brooklands (not so much a track day tho) then went to "The Ring" last year. If anyone ever gets a chance to do that one the you really must :thumbup:

the thing that surprised me the most is just how well a relatively standard car can handle round a track. Huge fun and would recommend to anyone. Glad you enjoyed but i'll bet you'll be hooked now. :D
