forge 007p issue.

Featured Replies

Ive had a 007p DV fitted for about 10k now i think, lately i seem to get a kind of flutter noise from the DV, say in 1 in 10 dumps, is this a sign it needs servicing?

Also since fitting Ive had a p-torque remap would the stock spring need changing at all?

When fitted it was noticed the engine cover can slightly rub against the dv tubing but it seems to not done any harm, is there any benefit from the relocation kits?

Servicing the Dv is a piece of cake...full details on Forge`s website,I run with the yellow spring which is stiffer than the standerd green one, but green should be ok for yours. I run with no engine cover as i got fed up with the 007 rattling against it. Toyed with idea of cold side kit but a lot of money for no gain other than cosmetic

As piv34uk stated servicing is a piece of cake, just unscrew the top of the DV to expose the spring. I had a green spring as standard and uprated to a yellow one. I posted in another thread the spring pressures.

Green - 5-15 PSI

Yellow - 15-23 PSI

Blue - 23-30 PSI

Red - 30 + PSI

If yours is remapped and running over 15 PSI then you may need to go with yellow spring. Although flutter can be mis diagnosed as turbo stalling due to a too stronger dv spring. Best check what you have fitted. Also most folks have taken the engine cover off when running these as they do rub.

I just have the standard p-torque map which I got via the group buy before christmas, so ive no idea what the boost psi is. I do have the stock green spring though.

A mate just told me he cleaned/lubed his with wd40 but that has got to be too thin no?

I only get the odd flutter when pootling along when driving hard it sounds normal.

I would'nt put WD40 in the DV, way to thin end up drippng down to the turbo. Should not really need greasing. Are you sure it is the DV causing this slight flutter.

I to sometimes get the odd flutter from the DV but never when I plant the pedal fully. Just now and then when im feathering the pedal on and off gas without letting the turbo spin much but again not as much as your getting.

If it does it while accelerating fully (say before letting your foot off the gas) then id try the yellow spring.

Like stakeknife says it only happens now and again when gently using the throttle (feathering?) im not 100% its the dv but it clearly eminates from there and sounds like something needs lubrication.

Ive just dug out my paperwork and it was installed at 93k and the cars now on 103k so its been on for 10k, I will check the operation like forge shows in their pdf when i next give the car and engine bay a clean as its caked in dirt with all snow/slush weve had up here.

Have you had a look inside it yet? The black rubber seal had broke up on mine and dropped down onto the spring.. Not sure if it would affect it but worth checking.
