Detailing a 'One-off'?!?!?!

Featured Replies

There's only original mongrel.

Good job mate. I think another mongrel will need a treatment sooner rather than later. By the way, to my knowledge the silver estate has never been in an accident. It was the black vRS hatch which was in a smash, and then donated all it's bits over to the silver one.

Another great detail

Amazing job, what a difference

Looks good, I really need to get to grips with my G220 this summer!

And I hope those tosh tyres are coming off.. all that money on a great car to be sat on ditchfinders!

didnt look that dirty in the pic ross took, must get a camera the same as ross ;)

Tidy mate :D

i get about 3/4 through the thread and the rest doesn't load for some reason

Looks good m8ty, as the person said on DW though....the rotation of the tyre is the wrong way around ;)

What's up with the tyres then?

Look at the tyre rotation arrow, should be pointing to the left (front of the car i believe)

The arrow should point in the direction of rotation when the car is moving forwards.

Must admit that appears to be the wrong way around there, it is hard to be 100% sure but that looks like the passenger side rear of the car in which case you're right :(

Easily fixed though :) - it is an MOT failure this way so Ross will sort it ;)

Yup, the mud guard being infront of the wheel would be pretty pointless too ;)

Hehe true ;)

That does look nice and clean!

Oh for gawds sake all I need to do is change the left and right rear wheels around, they got mixed up when cleaning thats all. They all have to come off again when i bleed the brakes tonight anyhow.

I still cant believe how much better the paintwork looks, sure the new paint should be shiny, but the rest has come up a treat as well.

Top job :)

I KNEW it!!

An hour and 20 minutes or son on DW to notice that.

Anyway, it goes without saying that it's top work but I'm sure Ross will agree it's an experience watching him work, it really is a spectacle.

By the way though - next time I service your car, can you get a new undertray???:eek:

It's amazing how good your camera skills are when your taking pictures in a dark unit and only of the front end that has been painted and cleaned.............

Refresh it buddy, so many pics your connection may not be able to handle it...........:D

Yes, thanks we knew about it and I just didn't have time to get the car back on the ramp for them to be changed round, it's not biggie............:o

Know how your feeling Ross, my mistake for probably putting the wheels back incorrectly by the ramp but it's not the end of the world............

You so knew that people were going to notice...............:(

Thanks for the comment's mate and thanks for the work on the Superb, I can safely say that the hissing has now gone but I do have a new plastic rattle, did you break my undertray?

As always, excellent work Simon.

:)

Hey Baker21 - superb work as always...... nice job by yourself and Ross to get this project complete and a true success.

Btw - my trusty old Powercraft appears to have succumbed to the winter frost in the garage and sprung a leak! Doh! Not stripped it down to assess but i figure it'll be terminal. :(

Cheers,

Ste.
