Yellow Octy vRS

Featured Replies

Saw my very first yellow Octy vRS in the flesh yesterday. Was stopped at lights a couple of cars in front of me, waiting to leave the Royal Victoria Hospital and join the Westlink (A12). It did not have proper vRS alloys, had very ugly multi spoke BMW style wheels. Was being driven by a middle aged blonde woman and had custom number plates.

Unfortunatley I was in the 1.6 (I do not drive the vRS into work as work is in West Belfast, car crime capitol of N.Ireland).

I have to say that other than the ugly non standard wheels the car looked better than I would have thought possible for yellow  .

Just why does anyone think wheels are nicer if larger? This yellow cars were definitely larger than the 17s on my car and I must say I think looked to big for the car?

I think the vRS looks brilliant in yellow - although I wouldn't have that colour personally as it does attract attention !

I agree. There's a few yellow ones over here and the colour really suits the Octy. Wouldn't buy one though, they'd be harder to sell on.Regards David

i bought mine because it was yellow(and cheap)looks very nice indeed.

17's on it are perfect szie too, maybe lower the car a bit and change them to 40 profile tyres(if it doesn't knock out the speedo).never did got into this "big "wheel thing, actually dropped a size on my last car, retro cool 15's:)

Agreed that big wheels look stupid but on small cars, especially Corsa running 17" rims that I'm sure we've all seen. To annoy William to the nth degree mine is running 18" black rims on 40 profile tyre. IMHO the wheels don't look excessively oversized but then I think the colour helps. Shiney silver certainly would look larger on the car, but not to the detriment of the overall appearence...

When I posted earlier I went out for a sambo and lo and behold a yellow real vRS flies by me.

Was it a MH reg or a 04 KE by any chance ?

Didn't catch the reg Colm, too busy thinking about me sambo :D

I have a yellow octacia with 18" rs6's and looks sweet.

The problem with the octavia, you have to be very careful what alloys you put on, the wrong wheels can make the whole car look pants.

Does anyone have a yellow vRS estate? I've only ever seen one before, and it looked good IMO.

I checked the Skoda UK site the other day for 2nd hand ones at dealers, but there were none listed - mostly red or silver. Have to say I would like one; slightly darker tints and 17"/18" wheels would be perfect

  • 2 weeks later...

I was never sure about the estate in yellow, but that looks pretty good :)

Seen a yellow estate on the M25 last week. Like it on the hatchback, too loud on the estate IMHO.
