05 Skoda Fabia Question

Featured Replies

Hey guys!!

So here is my question. I have a 2005 Fabia 1.2... i don't have a key fob but i sure would like one.

is there a way i can buy one and reprogram it to use with my car?

So your ignition key doesn't have the buttons on it for remote central locking? Is your car fitted with central locking?

If the car has central locking but not remote central locking, and no OEM alarm, the easiest option is to get a CAT One Thatchem alarm fitted. This will give you remote locking and of course a decent alarm. Laserline works well with the VAG group cars.

exactly.. my ignition key does not have the buttons.. it is a simple key, no buttons..

if by central locking you mean that i can lock all locks using the main one (drivers side), yes, it is fitted with central locking..

In that case, see my previous post (unless the car already has an alarm.)

Do you have both keys? Are they both like this?

What trim spec is your car?

I ask because, you never know, if you've only got one key the lost one might have been a fob and it'll just be a case of getting a new one from Skoda.. but be warned, they aint cheap and eBay ones aren't worth the hassle.

I'm not sure how likely this is, but there's a small chance.

Nah, both keys are like this :(.. I went to an authorized service center and they told me something along the lines of what MoggyTech suggested but the guy didn't look too sure so I thought there would be some light at the end of the tunnel... prolly not :( :thumbdwn:
