Octavia 1 cd connector block in boot

octavia 1 estate cd in boot wiring connector

Hi Everybody

I have an '02 octavia mk 1 estate tdi, the cd player in the boot has stopped working, When i checked it the wiring connector block was covered in water due to a split rear washer pipe leaking.

The pins on one side inside the connector block have corroded and the wires have come out and i don't know where they go ! ! ! the pins at this side of the block are..

Black wire to no.2 still connected

I now have a brown, yellow, light grey and blue wires to connect to No.4,6,8,10 or 12 pins

Can someone please have a look in there boot and tell me where these wires go, also there are 5 wires this side of the block but only 4 pins inside the connector plug.

Thanks in anticipation..

Dave

I'll try and have a look at mine tomorrow...... I have removed my changer, so should be easier to get to the plug.....

Thanks for that, the connector is the one whats on the wires coming out of the cd player.

Dave

Sorry - did not get a chance to do it today. Will try tomorrow morning, when I give it a wash.

Picture is not very clear, so here we go in good old fashion ascii art.....

Was a good job I checked as my rear washer hose had part-seperated and I had a puddle of wetness in there.....

Hi Thanks for that...

My connector has no green wire so i can only go on the odd and even numbers on it..................

no.1...orange no.2...black [thin wire]

no.3...purple no.4...?

no.5...empty no.6...empty

no.7...red no 8..?

no.9...black [slightly thicker wire] no.10..?

no.11..white [although this has come off] no.12. empty

I have a blue, brown, grey, and yellow to connect but this still leaves 4 wires for 3 pins, its a mystery, could you possibly have a look at the numbers on your block and see if there anything like mine.

Thanks Dave

Your info block says Octy 2?!

However I have checked the numbers on mine:

    +----------+----------+
(1) | Blue | Yellow | (2)
(3) | Brown | Green | (4)
(5) | | Red | (6)
(7) | White | Gray | (8)
(9) | Black | Purple | (10)
(11) | | | (12)
    +----------+----------+

(3) and (6) are both thicker wires.

I guess (6) is +ve and (3) is earth, and the other wires must be control and return feed. Good luck!

Hi Again

Sorry, yes my car is an octavia 1 estate tdi... i will check the wiring and see what happens, i am getting fed up of seeing wires as i have just changed the drivers door actuator for the central locking.

Thanks Dave

Might be worth seeing if anyone else has a 2002 octy estate who could check for you - mine is a year older, but I can't imagine the pinouts would have changed!

Only other option I can think of is to see how these cables terminate in the back of the head unit, but I am not going there - bit tight behind my pioneer with all the extra hands free & auto-mute stuff.

Hope it helps

Mine one Matt, sounds like your and my CD change plugs are the same, and Dave has a different loom if he has an orange and no green cable.... unless he is colour blind  Weird how Dave has something in pin 11 on this plug - almost as if someone has previously rewired it!
