Those are the ones, very quick for a huge car, prob couldnt turn for cak. Jeremy Clarkson did one up for his second video, against a done up nova by that vicky butler whatsername.

done up, I think the nova won overall, damn those corners! The rover completely blitzed the nova on the straights.

worth watching if you havent seen the actual video

Especially the overfinch range rover towing a focus beating a focus.

No it didnt !

The nova won hands down on every race against the rover in real life, the script was already written for the video and tho rover was to win even though it didnt if you know what I mean.

The owner had the nova featured in Total Vauxhall magazine years ago and he said how the nova was made out to loose although it didnt, even clarkson was amazed at how fast it was !

My second car was a 216GTi Twin Cam (the Honda engine, not the Rover one ;)) and it was quality. Still have very fond memories of it and so do many of my friends.

Ended up giving it away. Well actually I sold it but the fecker never paid me for it.

Ah well, shame it was scripted. Just goes to show, but then who do you believe?

Completely forgot I'd started this thread so I think an update is required.

Last time I posted, the Rover was all set to compete in it's first event but then the day before it decided not to start again so I had to use the Octavia. As much fun as it is having an airfield to play on, I struggle to get a decent result with the Skoda, as being a turbo car, I get classed with the likes of Subaru Imprezas and Mitsibishi Evos and their lovely 4 wheel drive systems.

Anyway, as the next event way the following weekend, I didn't have enough time to tinker with the Rover and the Skoda was called upon again. Did a bit better than first time round but still not brilliant so it was back to tinkering with the Rover to try to get to the bottom of the problem. I finally narrowed it down to the ECU and immobiliser box so I sourced a new immo box and and sent that off with the ECU, out of my last Rover, to be paired up in order for them to work. Got them back today, put them in the car, sorted

Just in time aswel, as the next event is tis Sunday.

Good luck  (Least you count on your Skoda as reserve!)

Cheers. Might have to use the Skoda again. A day after the new ecu and its back to not starting again . Totally stumped now as I have changed literally everything.

If you have the security code for the car, you can turn the immobiliser off.

Done that. No difference. The only thing I can think of now is a wiring fault. Better dig out my spare wiring loom. Joy.

Bit of info - re starting probs - while ago my youngest gave me a lift to shops .Back in car - no startee -opened bonnet - couldn't see anything obvious - no fuses gone etc .So I pay personal breakdown - so call out the nice man .Turns out it was 5A fuse ( uprated to 10 on their advice,as a CONSTANT FAILURE ) --marked with alarm /immobiliser symbol under bonnet .

Car -oh yes Rover 25

ANY HELP

Oh - another one - could have been age ,but if fuel gets low - takes ages once system is dry for fuel to get to engine -

All fuses and relays etc are fine, checked, swapped, rechecked many times. The problem is totally intermittent. I can use the car for an evening, starting and stopping the engine many times and it runs perfect. However, when I get in it the next day, it'll just turn over and not fire. Then I leave it a day and it'll start first time. So annoying!
