Felicia leaking into passenger footwell

Featured Replies

Anyone know what the most common cause of this would be?

Do I remove the battery and cut out the soundproofing from behind/under the battery to find the hole?

Thanks

Windscreen seal seems to be a common cause of problems. If it is wet up behind the dash then this is your best bet. Be careful of water getting into the fusebox.

Yeah it's wet behind the passenger dash, theres a bit of foam by the bonnet release handle which is soaking wet.

Without removing the whole dash, it's going to be impossible to find the leak I think.

Best remedy? Accidently break the windscreen and pay the glass excess?

cheers

A glazier should be able to replace the seal (you should be able to buy the seal at a Skoda dealers). Shouldn't cost as much as a glass excess to sort out

I let repair my car just 2 years ago but now it is leaking in again :(

Just having towels in it so soak the water... On Thursday I'll have a date with the mechanic.

I have the same problem and on mine it definitely isn't the screen seal.Try removing the glove box liner and see if the soundproof foam is wet all the way to the top as on mine it was wet from about 4 inches down.I recently had a battery cook itself and discovered that the battery acid has ate away at the joint sealer below the battery. I bought some joint sealer and that seems to have done the job . Hope this helps:thumbup:

Same here :thumbdwn: Got a new seal summer 2007 that cured the problem (anyone remembering the weather back in 2007 will know what a cure meant) but having read this thread I felt under the dashboard this morning - not dripping wet but definitely not dry. Seems as if one just have to accept this: regular change of spark plugs, oil, filter, windscreen seal... :P

Mine was sopping wet after a windscreen change where the technician failed to use a sealant. On sealing and Vaxing the insulation material was still wet particularly behind the dash. I was advised to drive with the heater on full, venting to the lower front. It's been a couple of weeks now and it's nearly dry. Unfortunately, it's a bit of an ordeal to drive like that.
