Is this the revised front arb?

Featured Replies

Does this look like the revised front arb? I had it changed just before christmas... I wasn't expecting it to look quite this decrepit already though? (sorry for the crappy phone photos)

if the collars are metal , then yes it is the latest roll bar

road salt is a killer of any steel components , hence decrepitness

power wah the stuff off if you can

I think they looked metal... if not part of them was. Guess i'll be back on the floor tomorrow to have a look. tbh after seeing the wiki guide on here i was expecting it to be red lol but i guess that was an uprated one?

I was only looking really as my car seems to be making creaky/squeaky noises still when hitting bumps when turning. I guess that could be my console bushes though? My console bushes are thick full of greasy black crud so I couldn't really see what they were like quickly

Looks like mine, is that the drivers side by any chance?

My collars are still intact but the bar on the drivers side has a slight surface crack in it with a bit of rust

Yep is the drivers side. Was waiting for a mate to show up so crawled under the car as you do ;)

Is yours the revised one?

Well it looks exactly the same as yours

well after work today i decided to once again let my car mount me... the brackets over the bushes does indeed appear to be metal... or at least shiney silver metalic plastic ;) bushes looked in good condition too as far as what i can see

was just shocked at the condition they're in after only 2-3 months

I also had a better look at the console bushes. the bottom rubber bit seemed to look a little bent/warped. probably nothing though or just the weight of the car

The brackets over the mounting bushes are the pipe clamps and always had been metal. Its the stops, part sof the ARB - but I can't remember if they are inboard of the mounting clamps or outboard of the mounting clamps (tooooo long ago!). So, once you have found them, try touching them with a small magnet, if it sticks to them they are metal rivised stops so updated ARB. I think tha they are outboard of the mounting clamps which means that you can reach them without getting too far under the car, BTW, I'd guess from that picture that you do have metal stops. You can always chop up a fridge magnet to check if they are metal - just keep it away from the pipe clamps because they are always metal and might give you the wrong idea of "what is what".
