Coding keys

Featured Replies

Ive ldone a search on the forum for information about re coding keys and cant really get the answer im looking for!

Ive got the two keys from my car but both the remote parts are no good, just too old!

I was going to buy two new ones but is it possible to code them so they work with the car without going to Skoda?

I know you can do it with Vauxhalls and BMW's but what about an Octavia?

Here you go m8 ....discussed in this thread how to code remotes

hmmm... must give that a go myself, as I've just changed the door control module in my drivers door and now the remote only unlocks all the the other doors but not the drivers one.

That doesnt work!

One of my keys works and one the red led flashes on but it doesnt open the door

In the Manual it says that if the key has had a new battery it will need re sync ing

to do this,

pressing any desired button on the remote. Open the door with the key within one minuteafter pressing the button.

that dont work either!

Can anyone shed any light on this because clearly the remote does work , just cant get it to open the doors

Procedure For Matching Remote Key Fobs To The Car:

Using a spare key switch the ignition on.

Insert the key to be programmed into the driver's door lock.

Manually lock the driver's door using the key.

Press the Lock or Unlock button on the fob once.

Wait for a least one second.

Press the Lock or Unlock button on the fob twice.

The vehicle horn will sound to indicate correct programming.

This was taken from the link I posted earlier also the post I made saying 1 key in ignition and 1 key in door, I assumed you had read the thread I posted

Nope! still cant get it to work, have got in contact with skoda but all they can say is well have to look at the car!

Think ill give up lol

This worked fine for me when one of my keys stopped working after changing the keyring part with an ebay one. Just a note, this also works with using the key in the hatch, as opposed to the drivers door, as mine is de-locked :)
