OK seeing how the fan thread got side-tracked have stated a new one. Someone said why not cut a hole in the wheelarch liner. So I have :eek: and have filled it with half a vent grille cover that cost me pence from my local plumbing shop. The size is 10x13cm and is held in place with aldradite, that is also helping to level out the profile of the liner. Im suprised just how well this has gone so far and we post more pics later.

Adrian (SkodiRS) has done a similar mod on his Octavia vRS. I think he used a larger (ie full size) vent.

ok heres a final pic once all put back together, the number os screws holding the liner in place is endless!!!

Right now for the road test report.... Well the air temp gauge is showing between 27-30 at the moment so took it for a country blast. After about 10miles of HARD driving let it sit at the bottem of a 1:6 hill and get heat soak. Set off and got the usual symptoms. After a few hundred yards got FULL power back and went up the hill like a missile( approx 2 miles)!!!! Stopped at the top and yep the vent was nice and warm..... So has it made a difference? Well I would say yes as the car seemed not to be fazed by the heat and even when provoked into heat soak cleared it very quick and no lasting effects.
