Anyone tried FIAT Mulitjet 1.6 120? What's it like?

Featured Replies

Read the spec of the Bravo and Alfa MITO with this engine and if I replace my Furby VRS next year, I may look at this. Whilst 120 BHP is less than the VRS it apparently puts out 236 lb ft of torque at only 1750 rpm which is bloody brilliant for a 1.6 IMHO. I would guess it would be pretty quick?

Anyone out there tried one:)

No , but a 1.6 Bravo is looking most likely for my next car at the mo so I'm interested to hear firsthand exprience too

i tried the 2 litre one when it came out at around the same time as the furby 2. very stylish inside and very quick on the test drive. also very comfortable. much more expensive than the furby but the only problem at the time was delivery. promised mid september then told me on september 1 that it would be mid november. wasn't pleased. still it seemed a good motor at the time.

I had the 1.9 CR 130 in the Grande Punto Sporting from April until Oct, i know that the 1.6 has replaced this engine in the Punto too. I havent driven the 1.6 but i can say the 1.9 was a fabulous engine, quiet, smooth, very quick (esp with the remap) and relatively economical. I imagine the 1.6 will be better, lighter and more economical for a start. I think the 1.6 in the Bravo comes in 150BHP guise too so i cant imagine the output figures for the 120 are putting much of a strain on the unit. If you're thinking about buying one go and indulge yourself with a test drive, dont have to commit to anything.

The bravo has a choice of 105 or 120bhp 1.6 and then a 150bhp 1.9

I've driven the MITO with a 1.6 diesel engine. Its a great little engine for sure, big wallop of torque like the PD130, and goes very well for sure. Not sure what the output was, but it suited the car well.

Yeah i tried a new shape bravo.... in August it had a 120bhp diesel engine not sure if its the same 1 lol.... but it was ok, but no foot rest for left foot......

Sounds good will have to check the car out. I remember Sharkrider saying his Punto was deceptively quick because it had a smooth power delivery. The MITO may have less power than my VRS but has a bit more torque. When I get five minutes..
