My VRS Cant count!!!!!

Featured Replies

dunno if anyone else has experienced this.

basically was driving it around before xmas, and pulled up to a junction. the revs sat at 1500rpm at tickover. me thinking "ooh thats a bit high" ignored it cos i thought it wsa cold, drove off

over time, it started to do this more and more, even after long driving periods. weird thing is, if you lift "UP" the accellatator, it backs off. so i took it to the dealership. apparently the VRS has an electonic sensor box which senses how hard your pushing the pedal. as i understand it, it applys certain "checksums" which should add up to "5" depending on which pedals you press. and if it cant add up to 5, it applys certain pressure to the accellarator, thinking it needs additional revs.

anyone else heard of this? i thought it could just be a tight spring or need a bit of WD40 on the lever.. its being done on warranty anyway, but just wondered what people thought

Throttle position sensor is faulty. Takes 20 minutes to change.
