Anyone running omp brake pads?

Featured Replies

yea , mind they work well but just concerned bout them not hitting the disc square on.

they break better than std even if they not hitting all the face of the disc. well most the preasure is on the outside of the disc.

unsure till i look

when i go to work with light use there is a bit at the centre part of the disk that is a diff colour like its touching but not as much.

cheers for the link ill read it now.

mmm

When i took the std pads off the inner one wore more than the outer one. not sure what these are doing but the ticking it annoyin me. sounds like a stone stuck in the tread (I have checked its not that)

Ill see what its like and clean it up as best i CAN

cheers

The inner pad has a little more work to do with it being a single piston caliper as it has to pull the caliper over via the slidder pins do engage the outer pad - did you grease these pins and theck that they were free? As if these are seized it will cause the inner pad to wear quicker.

As for the ticking, this used to happen to mine when using grooved discs on the 312mm set-up but it was a very fast and hardly noticable tick when applying the brakes. 12 Grooves would meen 12 ticks per wheel revolution so it become more of a faint humming really. You could file a small chamfer into the leading edge of the pads and try that.

I bought the M1144's hoping they would be less dusty ect but the pad face does appear aggressive. How did you rate the dust output in the end Ken? Unfortunatly for my pad shape M1144 was the "lowest" performance available from Mintex.

There was some initial "loose dust", but after a couple of weeks that stopped, and they became the least dusty pads I've ever run.
