whats the engine capabilities

Featured Replies

ive got a 180 vrs and was led to believe its the same engine as in the 225 audi tt. if super chips claim to get 260 from the tt then how come they can only get 225 from the vrs?? if they are identical engines.

a few of my friends were all of the same impression that they are all the same the tt, the seat leyon coupe r and the golf gti and the pasat but the only difference between them was the map vag put on the engine..

am i given wrong information?? is my engine not capable of 260bhp because its different in some way to the tt??

cheers in advance.

I think the block and internals are the same but the 225 bhp versions use the K04 turbo whereas the 150 - 180 bhp's use the K03S as well as different manifolds

In fact here are some of the different parts required to upgrade

I believe the rods are different as well as the head?

Bigger MAF sensor, think they use a different fuel pressure regulator too

the bam engine has stronger rods and big turbo etc etc

a vrs with all the mods you can amagine on a k03s is max about 230 bhp to 240bhp ..... i think 250bhp has been done but ran nitrous to achieve it:thumbup:

big difference fella:thumbup:

ah well thats cleared that up for me then. thanks for that guys

210/225 engine has a lower compression ratio due to different rods.
