Economical, fun and small are all pretty subjective but........

if he's into Fiat's, he should definitely consider the Panda 100hp imho. Failing that, he might just about find a Suzuki Swift in budget but that has bigger car running costs...

well he's now thinking focus, so 'small car' is obviously subjective too!

Whenever small, fun and cheap are mentioned, Panda 100 wins hands down where fun is the key factor.

If he wants something a bit more civilised then a Focus is a competent if dull car.

The thing is, its difficult to buy a 'bad' car these days. Most cars are pretty reliable, they don't rust etc, so its really down to individual requirements and tastes.

Under 2YO, under £5k and Macho - there's at least one oxymoron in there!

If he is thinking Stilo, then it has to be the Schumacher or the Abarth. get quite a good one for that price. 2.4 ltr 5 cylinder 170bhp. (200+ with remap) A very underated car. I should know as my last car was one. tell him to nip over to www.stilosport.com there are a few for sale. (very nice silver one belonging to a guy called jamie. he is practically giving it away)

dull? the feel of stuff like the steering etc on my Focus made it a much nicer car to drive than something like a modern DBW car

I agree, no idea how you can call a focus dull as it's a far better handling car than anything Skoda (and most others in the same class) make out of the factory in either MK I or Mk II guise.

Seat Ibiza FR or Cupra

Either the TDI sport version or the 1.8T 20v petrol version

Although them might actually be slightly too old and slightly too miley and slightly over budget but other than that all good

Sorry when I said the Focus was dull, I was referring to the Mk2 Focus. I had a Mk1.5 and thought it was excellent to drive. Still not particularly exciting though.

I would definitely take a Mk2 Octy over a Mk2 Focus though.

think you can pick them up for 10-11k.

I wouldnt mind a Focus or a Fiesta. They can turn on a dime!

Sure they didnt look exciting but handling wise unbeatable.

£4-5 k budget?

erm

You could get a mk2 Octy Theres one for sale near me.

But 2 years old..... Def going to have to up the budget a tad I think at least up to £10k depending on the car.

£4,800 for a 07 plate Focus ST with 16k miles

I know there's a Cerdit Crunch, but surely there's a 1 missing before the 4 !!

Sounds like a con to me...

Yes that one is a con, it shows all the common hallmarks of one. Now removed from autotrader, so confirmed as con.

Finding a car that meets the criteria.

is going to be difficult, small cars are really holding their value and you will struggle to find anything with less than 20K in that budget. Those that are will be sold quickly, so move fast will be the order of the day.

Nice!!! It even has a Blaupunkt stero!!!

And a hands free kit. :D

i have a vehicle for sale

8 miles on the clock

<2 years old

yours for £1k
