First Service - 10,1000 or 9,375?

Featured Replies

My Roomster has a message which seems to suggest I need a service at about 9400 miles (probably 15,000 km). The only refererence to service intervals I have is the delivery stamp from the dealer where they have handwritten 10,000 as the next service.

I thought I would check on this forum but I see threads where people talk about sevrvicing being "approx 10,000" .

I am tstruggling to find time to get it serviced, so the extra 600 miles would make a big difference as it would take me to the school holidays.

So which is it? Or will it even be a problem if I go I bit over anyway?

Thanks.

No problems going over.

I agree, I was on holiday last year in Europe with it and went over by about 1000 miles... one of those things... just keep your eye on the oil level (as you always do anyhow!).

When I was talking about "problems" going over, I really mean problems with the warranty as this is a brand new car. It seems that the service interval is a bit vague, and I don't want to find I can't claim on the warranty later.

Its what is on the service book that matters, not what the onboard computer says... that will be wiped when the service is done anyhow!

As long as you get it done 'around' 10k (bit over or under, doesn't matter) then there won't be any problems re the warranty.

Now if you let it go up to 12/15k before you serviced it then its a different matter!

When I asked a Skoda dealer by how much the car could exceed the time/mileage requirements for a service without compromising the warranty, the answer was 30 days or 1000 miles - whichever was the sooner.
