I was talkin to the guys at europarts and they said there was two different types of diesel filters for the fabia vrs but i wasnt sure which one to get. Mines an 2005 model. Used the search button but there wasnt any infor on this subject. Sorry if its a stupid question just totally confused:confused:

Theres the Diesel Particulate Filter which i have no clue about and theres the Diesel Fuel Filter, you will more than likely want the Diesel Fuel filter, its the the silver canister on the left hand side of the engine bay behind the headlight.

No Mk I Fabia ever had a DPF.

There might well be two types of fuel filter against the fabia, possibly one for the SDI and another for the TDI's.

Best thing to do is to ask them to look it up based on your reg plate. GSF can do this.

Up until last year it was difficult to get the correct filter from anywhere but the dealer and the only one you could get from a motorfactors was a slightly poor fit.

You need the one with the flat bottom and no drain. Both will have the same fittings on the top and you can use both if you modify the holder, but it's now possible to get the flat bottom from anywhere pretty much and it's much less of a potch that playing round with the fitting cage

Odd i've never had any issues getting the right fuel filter, oh right yeah I always go to dealer or TPS.

Not much difference in price if any anyhow.
