IN Dash Changer - Compatable head unit?

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have a Mk1 OctySLX TDi Est. It's fitted with a Skoda MS411A CD Head unit. I've bought an in dash Skoda 6 CD changer and a connector cable from a guy on Ebay. The Changer powers up and illuminates, loads and ejects CDs. The only trouble is the head unit doesn't "see" or hear the changer. The head unit is dated 1999 and is made by grundig SK1175X100278. The changer is a Panasonic Cz. Model CX-CV1492GC Skoda part # SKZ5ZAH2073156. 1Z0 035 111A.

Are these two compatable? If not is there a Skoda or VAG Head unit that will. I would like to keep the changer in dash so need a single din head unit.

Thanks in advance.

I thnk you might have to press the "C/D" button to switch between the in-dash player and the multichanger...

I've tried that and no result. Thanks anyway.

I've taken the radio out and had a good look at the DIN connectors on the back. Connector C pin 14 is missing. Is this a Skoda mod or is that my problem?
