Compressor stall????????

That'll be the wastegate feeding through you can hear. I've heard Andy's exhaust "live" and its sounds great! thats the kind of noise i want but as i've said, dont want to pop a turbo etc

hhmmm......interesting read...........(ponders some more....)

Well I e-mailed Jim at StarPerformance because he had a Fabia running around the 230 mark so thought if anyone would know it would be him lol

He said that it's total rubbish and a de-cat is fine to run. Hence I've just ordered a Milltek one.

Thats a bit of cr4p to be honest, his Fabia only had 215bhp and 310lb-ft torque as my bud now owns it, also it was never decatted it has a Miltek CEL 100 sports cat on it and thats with a Stage 2 Turbo

Hmm the plot thickens. Perhaps I should change my order to the sports cat then:confused:

Well i bought a decat, i have an OEM turbo hence its in my cupboard, i will fit the decat however if i ever get a Hybrid Turbo.... thats my opinion however

fine with hybrid wouldn't chance it on OEM

It was more like 230bhp with 350lb-ft torque ;)

nope never was that, even spoke to Jim in person at star performance, we even tried to ask him to upload the 217bhp track map on it but he wouldn't ;)

Plus its not much quicker than a mapped fabia

hhhmmm...........lies and deception...........dont you just love it :P

Thats what he ran the silver one to i believe....look threw silver sausages post and youl find out cos it had a better turbo than mine.

my old car didn't never had a star map on it, its a chipit one copied and tweaked from the ex star car

he will go up to 230 with diesels as i priced up an ibiza cupra tdi to this power with him, that was on a stage 3 i think though ooooohhhhh "high piched voice"

I read another thread on uk-mkivs today in which a guy's turbo blew. Apparently he said, that his mechanic said (lol), that it was due to the de-cat putting extra strain on the turbo. I don't think we will ever find an answer to this!

yeah, hence why i think my cat will stay in place  lol

Interesting this, I rang Top Gear (St Albans) and the mechanic there told me there would be no problem fitting a de cat / downpipe (quoted £225 fitted) and had done a few Fab vRS, in fact he went as far to say it would probably ease pressure on the turbo which by reading this he's talking absolute BS! On the other hand it could be a blessing in disguise, if my turbo goes bang then theres nothing the wife can say to me getting a new one (obviously bigger and better without introducing her to the full details) and in the meantime I get to enjoy the sweet tones of the diesel lump.... No brainer!

Yeah seems to be a 50/50 split on this :S

Seriously if I go ahead and get this decat / downpipe fitted and the turbo does go bang, would there be any other damage to the car apart from needing a new turbo?

I was gonna make a suggestion...
