Did you definately plug the airbag back in ???

yep, definately, pushed into connector on steering wheel

I think if your airbag light and seatbelt light is on it could be electrical, wiring or clock unit rather than the airbag. Was it a new or second hand stalk as it may have issues in itself such as shorting.

Do you have the ability to scan codes? A faulty airbag will throw a DTC

Did you disconnect the battery and wait for at least half an hour before disconnecting the airbag?

If not, that could explain why the airbag light has come on, but not the seat belt one. Did you more the drivers seat whilst you were changing the stalk?

Could be a bad connection on the plug under the seat.

The car will need a dealer visit to clear the airbag fault, it does not reset itself. Several things can trigger the light, perhaps you switched the ignition on whilst the bag was still disconnected.

I'm in Fifeshire if your down this way then I'd happily clear it for you, but TBH you'd be cheaper going to the dealer by the time you got down and back :D

Probaby between 25-40 quid I recon, a good bet is to join www.scottishvag.com , they have plenty northern members and I'm pretty sure one would do it for a couple of beer tokens.
