Porka wheels

Featured Replies

WIll I be able to run porsche wheels with the following sizes, 225/17 on the front and then on the rear 255/17. I know I will need to change the tyres but will 9 inch rears fit the fabia. Need to know soon ish as may get them soon.

Yeah, anything will fit, just depends how much you want to roll the arches.

9's should be ok, but it does depend on whats the offset etc.

fronts are et52 and rears et47 , where is the best place for adapters

225 is only the width, you need the profile too.

If they are are 225/45 R17 on the front, and 255/40 R17 on the back (a guess) they will not fit. On 17" wheels you cannot go bigger than 40 profile (on 205 / 215 wide tyres). 255 wide is way too much in my opinion, and a 9" wheel will be a struggle too. 7.5" is ok and 8" is a struggle. Don't forget the offset too, and that any rubber sticking out from the arch when looked at from directly above will be MOT failure, and probably illegal.

After seeing ET54 and ET47, I believe they will rub on the suspension, as they will be much closer on the inside edge, by around 20mm I think as usual offset for VAG is around 35-40

This is the info I have,

Rear wheels are fitted with 255 40 17 tyres

Front wheels are fitted with 225 50 17

Damn it was hoping they would fit as they look awesome

The rims "might" with adaptors. Those tyres are way wrong though. 225/50 R17 is even too big for the octavia, let alone the fabia. Would need 215/40 R17 on those front rims (assume they're 8.0J wide) and if you can find them, something like 235/35 R17 on the 9.0J wide rear rims. I'd be very worried about arch protrusion though, and suspension rubbing on the inside. (although 20mm adaptors removes the offset/rubbing issue, but worsens the arch protrusion issue)

Well... you don't "need" those sizes. I quite happily ran 195/45's on an 8" wide wheel and no objections from fitters, either
