DOH! then YAY then YIPPEE!

Featured Replies

Typical - me and headlights just don't go together. I spent plenty of time cursing and sweating over the l/h headlight due to that damn battery being so close to the back of the light! Got that dipped beam changed OK, went to the other one, nice and easy, loads of space... :D Whipped off the cover, whipped the fooked bulb out, nice and simple, went to put the replacement in and I dropped the bu99er! "DOH!" Heard a nice tinkle as it bounced off something metallic, then a THUD! as it hit the engine cover! "RIGHT!" I thought, "I'm not letting this little (edited to "bulb" from ****) elude me!" so out came the ratchet screwdriver with T20 in it and I whipped out three of the bolts in that corner underneath, just enough to allow my hand inside (under much cover/spoiler bending :D) and grab my headlight bulb back out! this was the "YAY!" moment, especially as I put it in right next time! AND YES I PUT THE HEADLIGHT COVER BACK ON PROPERLY!!!! :o (don't ask those who don't know!?)

The final "YIPPEE!" was reserved for me whipping the drivers door card off, which now takes me about 90 seconds to do after much practise recently  and reconnected my door handle to the little wire thingy which had detached itself under the duress of the ICE install at the weekend! So now I no longer need to leave the engine running to flick the window down to let myself out the car! then put it up again...

The only job left now is sort out the speaker cable and amping the newly working infinity speakers!

Joel - if you're reading this, that driver's side tweeter wasn't working because the wire had pulled out the crimp. I forced it back in hard (as the bishop said to the actress) and wrapped it in plenty of black tape, courtesy of Q. I also put a good slather on the metal bit of the door as it was making a connection when the connectors tapped the door... Sorted now though! :speaker:

It could only happen to you Jason  A bit jammy though :P:

*Cough* Link

What would Briskoda be like without Jason around to cheer the place up??

Jason I hope you didn't hold the bulb by the glass at any point cos if you did it will have a very short life now...

Well, the bulb's glass hit a few things along the way, and when I grabbed it out the engine tray it was more a flick it out and pick it up off the drive. Every other time I held it by the pair of metallic connector jobbies. Either way, these bulbs were both "second hand" from "you know where" that I've had in a box for a while so may not last that long. They work now at least. :D

when they blow, you can use my forehead, if you want a nice red full beam effect :D
