Petro smell in car while driving - after MOT

Featured Replies

I had a 2000 Fabia 1.4. Just did the MOT, services at KWIK fit and also changed 4 valves as suggested by the technician in KWIK fit. The problem is there is always a petrol smell in car while driving at lower gear in the city (when conjected). I also feel the fuel consumption is worse comparing to before. Could anyone give me some suggestions? Shall I go back to KWIK fit to ask them check again?

Many thanks!

Take it back, sounds like a fuel leak, probably something not tightened properly. I wouldn't let Kwak Fut touch my car, let alone do engine work!

kwik fit changing valves?? oh dear:O

Not kwik fit again, I dont know why people still use them. They consistantly find non existent faults, then the customer pays for unneccessay work.

Gordon, I bet the car was fine when you drove it in.

i wonder if they changed the flux capacitor too?

Changed 4 valves? Don't you mean spark plugs? If they were changed then I guess one or more off them are not firing properly and the unburnt petrol fumes are geting back into the cabin somehow.

As for Kwik Fit they will always find something wrong with your car, they told my mum her exhaust had a bit of rust and needed changing, how observant they are:confused:.

Take it back if you dare!!!!!!!!!!
