Octy Scout Ambulance Vehicles

Featured Replies

There are two very nice looking Octy scouts decked out as ambulance responder cars on the forecourt at Leeds Skoda. :)

:wrthless:

SYMAS have at least one of these. I think one of them works out of Wath on Dearne ambulance station. They've also got some Volvo T5's so don't know how the Scout will compare.

EDIT: Gonna ask a mod to move the post to this thread. The pictures are more relevant here than where I stoopidly posted 'em! ;)

Done :):)

There's at least one scout done up with paramedic stickers in Nottingham, saw it hooning round the Nuttall island with the lights and sirens going. It did lean at a rather lary angle as it went round the roundabout, I don't think the jacked up suspension really helps the handling, though he was rather giving it some welly.

There are also a whole fleet of standard octavias at Nottingham City hospital that are used for transporting patients

Most of the rapid response cars in the Northern Ireland ambulance service are the new Octavia Scout estates. Very nice looking they are to.

According to this Word doc (clicky) there's gonna be 25 of 'em:

Just one point for anyone who opens the attachment ...

Seems that whoever wrote the minutes for this NHS meeting was obviously not familiar with vehicle service and repair technology.

VOR means 'Vehicle Off Road' ie the vehicle has a malfunction that prevents its being driven until repaired. So, if they have set a VOR target, it would be to achieve as low a figure as possible - this is presumably where Skoda is coming in if they have been having probs with their Vauxhalls. VOR certainly does NOT mean (as in these minutes) 'Vehicle of the Road' - like it's some kind of top prize award!

Cool, a white scout. Perhaps get one of these ex-service ones in a couple of years. Quite fancy a white scout, but by then will prob be out of fashion

Seen a paramedic Scout flying around Donny.

Seems to live up to it's rapid response role.

I see these every day around Rotherham, nearly always one parked just up from Wickersly School (for any one local to the area)

They look pretty rapid when you see them flying past with the blues and twos on, makes me wonder if there standard PD140's

Yep sounds about right as I've seen one or two knocking around by us as well.

I've also seen what appears to be a small fleet of unmarked Octy II 4x4's in the car park at the Royal Hallamshire. I'm guessing they are NHS vehicles and this seems to be backed up by someone I know who services the NHS fleet and said he had been working on an Octy 4x4's.

I heard that East Mids Amb service are buying some as well.

They need the 4x4 for the off road as well as the speed humps - they found that they were regularly shredding focus suspension in towns.

Had this one following me, he wants to adjust his headlights though!

Last time he was behind me all i could see was two great huge balls of light burning my retina's out!
