Hi all

First post here, hoping someone can help me out.

I've a 2006 Fabia vRS that lately has been revving too high, it mostly happens when the car is cold but does also happen to a lesser extent when the car is fully warmed up. When the car is cold the revs can go as high as 1700, if u rev the car up to say 4000 revs it'll come back down to the normal 1000 odd revs. I recently changed the air filter because it was dirty and this seemed to help for a few weeks but lately it's revving high again, i've checked all the pipe connections and can't find anything wrong. Does anyone know what might be causing this or has anyone else experienced the same problem and had it fixed ?

I'm starting to think maybe there's some airflow sensor or something gone somewhere ?

Maybe check to see if anyone with VAG-com is near you and see if they will be nice enough to give you a scan!

You will probably find the culprit straight away!

Yeah, it could be one of a number of things: MAF sensor; coolant temperature sensor; throttle position sensor... A fault code scan will point to the culprit straightaway!
