Windows crash alone with 12 km...Superb.

Featured Replies

Yes , when i come from the dealer to home , just bought a new superb comfort , the driver window crashed alone....the temperature outside was 8

Sounds very much like a bad manufactered window if you ask me. I hope you didn't get pieces of glass everywhere?

I think so that , but only 12 KM!!!!! , and a lot of little pieces ver the car....mmmmmmmmm what can i do with the dealer...with skoda......any suggestions.???

Thanks.

Hopefuly they will replace the glass under warranty.

Could be that the glass was not bonded correctly to the chassis with the resulting stress causing the break.

Shouldnt the window not just crack though, and not splinter in tiny pieces?

I'm sure the dealer will replace it under warranty.

I just realised, ccdtv means the side window.

That's the only one that would break into a million pieces. Perhaps the lifting mechanism was not fitted properly.

The rear window on my 4X4 broke into small pieces when it had an argument with a stone!

The dealer thinks it has been a stone...but its impossible because we are in a place when nobody could make that....

So , DGW , what do you mean....that your window were broken by a stone , or your dealer said that.????

Another question is about the nicro panel just down the window , it has a little line make surely by the little glasses....and we dont know if this is under warranty...so window yes...but the nicro panel??? the dealer tell me , they have to ask skoda to repair that nicro panel , because they must change all the door panel...

please help...

It could well be a stone squirted up by a passing car. It could also be a defect in the glass as its so new. Hard luck m8, mine is brilliant and trouble free so far.

I was mowing the front lawn when the rotary mower threw a stone into the back window of my Octavia parked in the garage. The first I knew of what had happened was a gentle crackling sound from the garage - this noise came from the rear window as it slowly disintegrated into small pieces of glass!
