vRS retrofit cruise control...?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know, is it possible to retrofit a cruise control to a diesel vRS?

How hideously does it cripple your fuel economy if you run on cruise control? I can't decide if it would be super efficient or if it would just lazily blast fuel into the engine...

Yes it is possible, it should help fuel economy on a run.

if youre heavy footed it will help, i personally found its only good to keep my speed within the limits on a long journey on a motorway (an economy on there too) on most A roads i find i can get better economy by being a bit light footed than the cruise control.

I had it retro-fitted by a member on here to my Fabia VRS! Its great no extra fuel loss!

yes, although you will need a stalk and a steering controller module unless you have maxi dot

I have 2008 vrs tdi with trip computer, and despite postings on here that it doesnt need a steering controller, it does, as it doesnt have maxidot!

so

Stalk £65

controller £110

plus vat and labour= £250ish

from a main stealer obviously

There are a few people on these forums who will help you out.

One of the great chaps here did my Octy vRS for £150 all in.

same as above

Maxidot is not the deciding factor on the Steering Controller. I'd be 99.9% an 08 vRS TDI would only need the stalk.
